Everything you don´t learn in the lab
Workshops and talks for scientists
(Self-) management, science communication and career development
NaturalScience.Careers offers workshops and talks for natural- and life scientists since 2012. We specialise in soft skills topics- all the wonderful things you don´t learn in the lab itself but which make you more effective at work and much more employable in the future. We are a team of nine trainers, all with a science background. We have a deep specialisation to work with natural- and life scientists in their PhD, postdoc and group leader career phases.
Available as online- and in-house events - worldwide
We offer soft skills workshops and talks specifically for PhD students and postdocs from natural- and life sciences (STEM subjects). We are writing books and opinion pieces and career columns for high-ranking publications and publishing houses. We regularly share our knowledge and experience on our blog.
Job application and interview strategies for scientists: how to score your dream job from application all the way to salary negotiation
Dr Karin Bodewits and Dr Philipp Gramlich
Scientific background with teaching and facilitation experiences
Together, we bring experiences from a wide range of STEM fields to the table: chemistry, biology, physics, medicine, computer science and mathematics. Having the same background as our course participants makes our workshops and talks very relatable and relevant for the professional life of scientists.
Online- und in-house Talks - practical
We´re not discussing dead book knowledge, we draw from our own, genuine experiences as scientists at work!
Playing a waiting game does not help career progress. Still, many scientists hope victory and fame come naturally by producing scientifically solid work. But success usually takes more.
Books and articles for the career development of scientists.
Our articles and books cover a range of topics relevant to the career development of scientists: career options, skill development and science communication, to name just a few. We exclusively write for high-quality publications like Science Careers, Naturejobs, Chemistry World or Nachrichten aus der Chemie.
